The health of the oceans is at great risk due to pollution. Numerous bodies work for the safeguard. Overseas could not remain indifferent.
Several ecological foundations have analyzed the health of the sea.
Some studies have determined that in 2050 there will be more plastic than fish in the oceans in terms of weight!
Attention to this phenomenon began in 1997 when the largest known accumulation of plastic debris was discovered between California and Hawaii, the sadly famous Great Pacific Garbage Patch (GPGP).
Just think: in extension it measures twice the size of Texas and three times the size of France.
Most of the uncovered plastic is still absolutely intact.
In fact, plastic takes 450 years to degrade.
Unfortunately, it often breaks down into small fragments that are ingested by marine organisms.
And it is also a problem for human health as these plastics and chemicals go up the food chain.
Notorious are the images of whales, beached dolphins or turtles and other marine species that get trapped in these “chemical cages” and slowly die.
Awareness is now high but, despite everything, today there are a dozen rivers (between Asia and Africa) that introduce 90% of plastic waste into the oceans.
The oceans represent interconnected systems where a piece of plastic placed in the water from anywhere can reach anywhere.
One Ocean Foundation have to be mentioned among the foundations active in this area.
Its mission is to reduce the timeframe for identifying solutions to the problems of the oceans by turning to individuals, companies, institutions and politicians to promote a sustainable economy.
Oltremateria has always been attentive and sensitive to environmental issues.
During meetings and training courses with Italian and foreign applicators, he always emphasizes how important it is to respect the environment.
In fact, he dedicates a chapter of the meetings to correct environmental education, explaining how important it is not to disperse pollutants but to give them correctly.
As a company, for its packaging it has used a reusable and recyclable food plastic which, if properly disposed of, can be returned to circulation without having to create new ones.
Also appreciating the goodness of the work of One Ocean Foundation, Oltremateria has decided to share its activity.
This is because there is still a lot to do and this battle can only be won with commitment and respect for nature.
